Red Lemon Congo
Grown in the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia, the Red Lemon Congo is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain that is a rarity in the cannabis community. It is cross-bred between two popular and potent award-winning strain favorites, the hybrid Super Lemon Haze (crossed between the two hybrids, Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze) and the sativa strain, Red Congolese. As a lux strain with a fair price point, this is one to definitely try out and/or gift to your friends as it offers a unique experience that would be enjoyed whether you are a cannabis connoisseur or simply a casual cannabis enthusiast!
Effects
Red Lemon Congo offers a mood elevating, mindful and euphoric high that is great for daytime use. Have a busy schedule for the day with lots of activities or errands to run? Or the opposite with nothing to do, bored, and you want to get creative and bustling? This strain is helpful in alleviating fatigue with a boost of energy and elation to get your mind prepped and ready for the day’s tasks at hand. Because of the social and lively nature of this bud, it might not be best suited for those who are comfortable with low-energy downtime, or more naturally inclined to be less sociable or introverted, unless you are looking to help regulate any social anxiety, of course, in which case, this is worth a try! It also assists in regulating a variety of mood disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, tension, stress, ADD/ADHD, a characteristic that is taken from the sativa genes of its parent strain, Super Lemon Haze. It can be used to self-medicate some pains like nausea and migraines as well. So, not only does it have great tastes and give great highs, it can also be used for more medicinal-focuses amongst cannabis patients who are looking for alternative treatment options other than CBD oils.
THC Concentration
The Red Lemon Congo strain can pack quite a punch as THC levels reach upwards of 28% high; it is undeniably a heavy hitter. In comparison, its parents, Super Lemon Haze averages THC content of 18% but can also reach a high of 25%, while Red Congolese, a 100% sativa strain, averages 18%-20% THC potency. Both parent strains were also winners of medical marijuana awards, Super Lemon Haze being first for the Medical Sativa category at Seattle’s Cannabis Cup in 2014, and Red Congolese being awarded third for Best at High Times’ Cannabis Cup 2013, so you can only imagine how powerful its cross-breed the Red Lemon Congo can be!
Appearance & Aroma
Red Lemon Congo’s beautiful bright reddish, burnt-orange pistils distinguishes it from other strains though still reminiscent of its parent, Red Congolese, that is also just as captivating and colorful. This strain’s flavor profile is complex with a sour-sweet, zesty-tart citrus (like sour candies!) balanced by a rich and spicy earthiness. With a frosty layer of trichomes over its forest greens, this bud almost glitters from the crystal-like resin; a jewel-like look that is only fitting for a local luxury strain!
